La presente tesis se realizó con el objetivo de identificar y analizar las representaciones sociales de participación ciudadana que poseen los actores sociales que gestionan el Patrimonio Mundial Camino Real de Tierra Adentro, tramo Estado de México. La teoría de las representaciones sociales, plantea que estas representaciones son conocimientos de sentido común, que se construyen en las relaciones sociales, son producto del contexto histórico social, y de las experiencias con los objetos de representación. Son formas de entender el mundo y guían nuestras prácticas. Por tal motivo, la hipótesis fue que las representaciones sociales de participación ciudadana, son producto del contexto histórico y de la posición de poder que los actores tienen en el campo de la gestión del Patrimonio Mundial, y guían las prácticas participativas hacia el modelo tradicional de gestión. La investigación siguió el enfoque cualitativo y un diseño etnográfico. Se recurrió a los métodos: revisión de documentos (currículum vitae, documentos oficiales y publicaciones académicas); entrevista a profundidad (aplicada a los actores de la gestión del CRTA-tramo Estado de México); análisis de contenido (basado en la metodología de la teoría fundamentada (Strauss & Corbin, 2002) y en el uso del programa especializado Atlas.ti. Como resultado del estudio se identificaron dos tipos de representaciones sociales. Los actores del sitio patrimonial con mayores capitales y mejor posición en el campo del patrimonio cultural, entienden la participación ciudadana como un deber ciudadano (el buen ciudadano) y la valoran como una actividad compleja. Los actores locales con la posición más débil en el campo del patrimonio cultural, asocian la participación ciudadana con la idea de derechos (opinar y tomar decisiones). Los actores nacionales y estatales tienen un discurso pobre sobre el tema, esto muestra que la representación está casi ausente en su imaginario.
The present thesis was carried out with the objective of identifying and analyzing the social representations of citizen participation that the social actors that manage the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro World Heritage, section State of Mexico. The theory of social representations, he argues that these representations are common sense knowledge, are built in social relations, are a product of social historical context, and experiences with objects of representation. They are ways to understand the world and guide our practices. For this reason, the hypothesis was that the social representations of citizen participation are a product of the historical context and the position of power that actors have in the field of World Heritage management, and guide participatory practices towards the traditional model of management. The research followed the qualitative approach and an ethnographic design. The methods used were: revision of documents (curriculum vitae, official documents and academic publications); In-depth interview (applied to the actors of the management of the CRTA-tramo State of Mexico); Content analysis (based on the methodology of the grounded theory (Strauss & Corbin, 2002) and the use of the specialized program Atlas.ti As a result of the study two types of social representations were identified.The actors of the patrimonial site with major capitals And better position in the field of cultural heritage, understand citizen participation as a citizen duty (good citizen) and value it as a complex activity. Local actors with the weakest position in the field of cultural heritage, associate citizen participation With the idea of rights (opinion and decision making). National and state actors have a poor discourse on the subject, this shows that representation is almost absent in their imaginary.
