"Bactericera cockerelli es una plaga de importancia agricola en cultivos de solanáceas y principal vector de 'Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum'. Con el fin de conocer la variación genética basada en haplotipos utilizando el gen mitocondrial COI de B. cockerelli de dos poblaciones en México, se colectaron insectos adultos en invernaderos comerciales en Villa Union, Durango y Saltillo, Coahuila, México. Una sección de 500 pb correspondientes al gen COI fue amplificada y secuenciada. Las secuencias obtenidas difieren de los haplotipos descritos en trabajos previos en la base número 247 del amplificado, donde el cambio implica la sustitución de una adenina (A) por una Guanina (G), indicando la presencia de un nuevo haplotipo el cual ha sido denominado Haplotipo 1 México (MXH1)."

"Bactericera cockerelli is an important pest in solanaceae crops and vector of ‘Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum’. In order to learn about the haplotype based in genetic variation using COI mitochondrial gene of B. cockerelli from two populations in Mexico, adult insects of B. cockerelli were collected from commercial greenhouses in Villa Union, Durango and Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico, and a section of 500pb from COI gene was amplified and sequenced. All the sequences obtained differed from the haplotypes described at base number 247 of the amplification, where the change involves the replacement of one adenine (A) by a Guanine (G), show the presence of a new haplotype that has been named Haplotype 1 Mexico (MXH1)."
