"The present investigation was accomplished in the greenhouses of the Horticulture Department of the Universidad Autónoma Agraria "Antonio Narro"", in Buenavista, Saltillo, Coah. Mexico in the period of april to november of 1999. The objective was evaluated the effect that have different populational densities of the twospotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch in photosynthetics process in leaves of the cultivation of the rosebush var. "Royalty" under greenhouse conditions. The investigation was accomplished in a bed of 96 plants separated in 5 treatments and a witness. This was split into two stages: the first consisted of the quantitative determination of the content of chlophyll, for this were labeled the leaves when these was found totally separate of the stem and with a reddish coloration and 30 leaves of the same age was determined the number of mites, color (L*, a*, b*) lightness, coordinate of chromaticity of the green to the red and of the yellow to the blue respectively, and content of total chlophyll. With these results was accomplished a regression using the program SAS; finding a regression line in which the dependent variable was the content chlophyll of and the independent were: the mites/leaf average and the color (L*, a* and b*). In the second stage was accomplished a bioassay with a commercial product Avermectina®, in order to determine the sublethal dose that permitted us to maintain the populations of this mite. It was accomplished an ANVA in the program SAS where was found that the different treatments have a strong influence on the photosynthetics processes, in the rod length of the floral button. Upon accomplishing a correlation analysis in the program Estatistica that find that exists a negative correlation for treatments with the variables, net photosynthesis, transpiration, content of total chlorophyll, rod length; while for the estomatal resistance was positive"
