"The purpose of this research project arose from the need to clarify the existence of

magnetic and electrical properties in the M-type hexaferrite, therefore, using the

ceramic route, the strontium and barium hexaferrite was appropriately synthesized,

respectively. This synthesis methodology allowed obtaining micron particle size

powders in all samples. Later, it was characterized magnetically and electrically to

correlate the effect that particle size has on these properties. From magnetic

characterization, saturation magnetization peaks in the sintered sample at 1200 ° C,

74.95 emu/g and 75.40 emu/g for BaM and SrM, respectively. Both values are higher

than what is usually reported. The studies of the electrical properties revealed the

multiferroic character of the sample synthesized at 1200 °C with values of remaining

polarization and electric coercive field of 42.93 µC/cm2 and 21.89 kV/cm,

respectively. Similarly, the multiferroic character was confirmed for the BaM sample

sintered at 1300 °C with excellent coercive field values (18.61 kV / cm) and

remaining polarization (58.12 µC/cm2)."
