Resumen o descripción
It has been well documented that vermicompost incorporated into the soil increases the germination and productivity of some crops. However, its effect on the physiological responses thereof in conditions of moisture deficit is little known. The objective of the study was to analyze the effect of vermicompost and suspension of irrigation on stomatal conductance, gas exchange and yield of bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) tolerant (cv 92) and susceptible (cv 122) to the drought. Plants were grown without vermicompost and with 1.5 and 3% of this in the soil, with irrigation in the complete production cycle and with irrigation suspension after flowering. The change in the gravimetric humidity of the soil was registered, and in the plant, gs, transpiration (E), assimilation of CO2 (A), leaf temperature, efficient water use (UEA) and yield components were estimated.
