_______________ AGRONOMICAL AND PHYSIOLOGICAL EVALUATION OF STRAWBERRY IN AN HYDROPONIC SYSTEM REVOLVER TYPE. ABSTRACT: An innovative hydroponic system called revolver for strawberry production was constructed. An experiment was carried to evaluate the agronomic response of strawberry in a revolver closed hydroponic system (RCHS) and also in a conventional open hydroponic system (COHS) and three genotypes of strawberry (Safari, Albion and Monterey) with a factorial arrangement 2 x 3 and 6 replications. Plant height (PH), crown diameter (CD), number of leaves per plant (NLP), total soluble solids of crown (oBrix), total dry matter (TDM), root volume (RV), leaf area (LA), CO2 assimilation (CO2A), stomata conductance (STC), intracellular concentration of CO2 (INC), transpiration (TR), vapor pressure deficit (VPD), leaf temperature (LT) and leaf relative humidity (LRH) in strawberry plants were determined at 73 and 93 days after transplant. The results showed that the RCHS presented the best and significant values for PH, CD, NLP, TDM, RV, LA, PHS, STC and TR compared with COHS. Strawberry varieties Safari and Monterey showed the highest PH, CD, NLP, TDM, RV, and LA in relation to Albion variety. Monterey variety showed the highest PHS and STC in relation to Albion and Safari varieties. The best treatment for all evaluated variables corresponded to the variety Safari in combination with RCHS. For PHS and STC the best combination was for the Monterey variety and CHSR.
